Grierson Award for The Mosquito Problem

On Nov 1st Andrey Paounov’s movie was awarded the Grierson Award of the BFI London Film Festival for best feature length documentary:

“The unanimous winner of the award, the jury described The Mosquito Problem… as packed full of delightful vignettes. Paounov presents Belene’s inhabitants with a quirky affection revealing both the harsh realities of their present existence, but also the often tragic inheritance of a brutal past. Beautifully shot, cleverly edited and sometimes playfully staged, this is a truly original and unmissable documentary.”
